Background: Deputy defence Minister, Sardar Majithia, President Prasad and foreign ambassadors were among the many dignitaries who were attracted to the Wellingdon cricket ground in Delhi, today, by a Festival match between former and present Indian Test players. Under the captaincy of His Highness the Maharaja of Patiala (Past X1) and Gulam Mohd (present X1) the top personalities of Indian cricket for the past two or three decades indulged in a light-hearted but interesting display. Star batting performance of the two-day match was the first innings total of 128 by the Present X1's Chowdhary. P. Roy, well known as a class batsman during his Test tour of England, made a crisp 58. Another well-known tourist, Hazare, was in similar form for the Past X1. In all, the two sides were well-matched and the crowd enjoyed the entertaining enterprise of the festival brand of cricket.
