Background: Mr. Macdonnel, Minister without portfolio of Canada and Mr. Nylander and Gbedmah, ministers from Ghana arrived in New Delhi on short visits. Mr. Macdonnel who arrived in dark drizzling evening was received warmly by Mrs. Lakshmi Mennon, Deputy Minister of External Affairs and Mr. Baig Chief of Protocol. Mr. Macdonnel is on his way back after attending the Malayan Independence celebrations
M/s Nylander and Gbedmah were also received by Mrs. Mennon and other senior officials as also the envoys of the Commonwealth countries. Mr. Nylander speaking to the Press announced that the Prime Minister of Ghana was expected to visit by the end of the year.
