    TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE INAUGURATION OF THE KINSHASA INTERNATIONAL FAIR, PRESIDENT JOSEPH MOBUTU PAID A LIGHTNING VISIT TO THE SITE AT LIMETE -- A DISTRICT OF THE CONGOLESE CAPITAL.

    PRESIDENT MOBUTU WAS CONDUCTED ON A PROGRESS TOUR OF THE SITE BY GENERAL COMMISSIONER TUMBA, WHO TOOK ON THE ENORMOUS TASK WITH A SKILLED STAFF SOME SIX MONTHS AGO. ALSO ACCOMPANYING THE PRESIDENT WAS FOREIGN MINISTER JUSTIN BOMBOKO.

    EXHIBITION BUILDINGS, ROOFED WITH COPPER, ARE SPREAD OUT OVER AN AREA OF 60,000 SQUARE METRES. THE FAIR, WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO OPEN ON JUNE 30, WILL CONTINUE FOR THREE WEEKS WITH 26 COUNTRIES TAKING PART.

    DIPLOMATIC SOURCES IN KINSHASA SAID LAST WEEK THAT BELGIUM'S MINISTER OF ECONOMIC AFFAIRS, M. EDMOND LEBURTON, WAS EXPECTED TO ATTEND THE OPENING CEREMONY. THE FAIR WAS ORIGINALLY PLANNED AS A BELGO-CONGOLESE VENTURE.
