SCU Reporter talking:
MV Murderer, Robert Smith led through door and into car by police.
GV Beauty college where murder was committed.
MV Smith's college lecturer being interviewed:
TRANSCRIPT SEQUENCE 4: Reporter: Did he seem to have friends among the other students?
Lecturer: Yes, no one consistently as such; he had many friends who were interested in him and to them he talked and with them he associated. Thinking back over the things he has done and the things that I observed in the classroom I cannot recall one experience that would sort of lead toward a thing like this, or make me think that this might happen.
Reporter: Despite the earlier confession Smith has now pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. He is expected to have a psychiatric examination before the case goes to preliminary hearing.

Background: Police worked into the night on Saturday to try and find out why 18 year old Robert smith should choose mass slaughter as his path to notoriety. In the confession which police say he gave after his arrest, Smith said he wanted to make a name for himself. The handsome teenager was brought before a J.P. on Saturday, and the hearing set for mid-December.
Police say Smith told them he had planned the mass killing for 3 months after hearing of other killings in Boston and Chicago. He decided on the Rose Marr Beauty College because there would be plenty of people there.
Smith was considered an excellent student.
I found Robert Smith after two months of school to be a very conscientious student, to be one who is interested in his work and took study quite seriously; interested in analysing things and editorialising things and giving his own opinion on these things.
