  • Description

Kidnapped British diplomat James Cross--released on Friday after being detained by Quebec separatists for eight weeks in Canada--was re-united with his wife and daughter Susan at London's Heathrow airport on Saturday evening (5 December).

At the airport to greet Mr. Cross were Canadian External affairs Minister Mr. Mitchell Sharp, and Mr. John Davies, British Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, to whose Ministry Mr. Cross is attached.

Mrs. Barbara Cross and 24-year-old Susan Cross went straight aboard the airliner which had brought him from Montreal as soon as it pulled up near the airport's V.I.P. lounge.

Later Mr. Cross talked to reporters about his experiences in the hand of the F.L.Q.
