Background: The Yugoslav Prime Minister, Mr. Dzemal Bijedic, arrived in Cairo on Tuesday (3 October) on an official visit at the invitation of the Egyptian government.
His talks with the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Aziz Sidky, were expected to cover bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East.
SYNOPSIS: The arrival in Cairo on Monday of the Prime Minister of yugoslavia for an official visit to Egypt.
The invitation to him was extended by the Prime Minister of Egypt. Dr. Aziz Sidky, who was at Cairo International Airport to welcome his guest.
The visiting Prime Minister, Mr. Dzemal Bijedic, was accompanied to Egypt by his wife.
Mr. Bijedic, who was actually born in Moscow, is a follower of the Moslem religion. Time was sat aside for him to visit Moslem holy places, including the Nasser Mosque, during his brief visit. But the main purpose of his visit was for a round of talks with Dr. Sidky.
Their talks were expected to cover a wide range of topics... including cooperation between Egypt and Yugoslavia in trade, science, culture and other fields. Another topic for discussion was expected to be the forthcoming visit to the Soviet Union by the Egyptian Prime Minister later this month.
