    Sierra Leone's President, Dr Siaka Stevens, on Tuesday (November 4) officially opened the tenth -- and last -- Inter-African Public Administration Seminar at the Parliament Building in Freetown.

    During the Seminar, a new organisation was inaugurated to take over the functions of the Seminar series. The new organisation is to be known as "The African Association for Public Administration and Management".

    Seventeen African states and nine international institutions are represented at the Seminar which is due to close on Tuesday (November 9).

    SYNOPSIS: Delegates from many African countries are attending the tenth Inter-African Public Administration Seminar at Parliament House in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

    The seminar, which began on November 4, will be the last of the series. A new organisation, to be known as the African Association for Public Administration and Management, will take over the functions of the Seminar series.

    In all, seventeen African states and nine international institutions are represented at the seminar which was officially opened by Sierra Leone's President, Dr. Siaka Stevens.

    In his opening address the President said he did not know of any conference or seminar which brought together such a galaxy and cross section of African talent
    The Director of the Public Administration Division of the United Nations, Dr. C.Y Wu, also addressed the opening session of the seminar which will close on Tuesday.
