    The national lottery of the Ivory Coast, LONACI, presented 47 new ambulances to the Ministry of Public Health ini a special ceremony on Thursday (February 15).

    The ambulances and equipment for two maternity clinics were part of the proceeds of the state lottery, which was set up in November 1970.

    The lottery was organised to finance social action in the Ivory Coast.

    In a speech marking the acceptance of the ambulances, Professor Agrege Hippolyte Aye, Minister of Public Health, said the lottery had enabled the country to finance and obtain certain things that would have bene much more difficult to procure with the limited means of the country.

    Guests were given an inspection tour of the vehicles, lined up at the LONACI headquarters in Abidjan.
