    A UNITED NATIONS FLAG FLEW OVER THE ABBEY, WHILE INSIDE, A SWEDISH AIRMAN WHO HAD FLOWN ON UNITED NATIONS MISSIONS, CARRIED A FLAG OF THE ORGANISATION TO THE ALTAR WHERE IT WAS LAID TO THE ACCOMPANIMENT OF A FANFARE.

    IN HIS ADDRESS, THE ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY, DR. RAMSAY, SPOKE OF HAMMARSKJOELD (SOF) AS A MAN OF FAITH WHO HAD GONE PUT INTO THE WORLD TO MAKE THE PEACE OF A HUNDRED NATIONS. HIS TRUE APPRAISEMENT WOULD BE MADE IN YEARS TO COME.

    THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE FOR 1961 HAS BEEN AWARDED TO MR. HAMMARSKJOELD, IT WAS ANNOUNCED ON OCTOBER 23.
