    British Foreign Secretary Michael Stewart arrived in New York early Friday morning (12 November) to attend an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council. The session was called Thursday at the request of the United Kingdom and a number of African delegations to discuss the Rhodesian crisis.

    MR. Stewart had originally been scheduled for an evening arrival. However, his plane had to put back to London with a cracked windshield.

    The Foreigner Secretary answered few questions on arrival, saying that most of the points would be discussed in the Security Council. Asked if the say any similarity between the Rhodesian declaration of independence and the American declaration of independence in 1776, he said there was none. He said the American declaration had been based on the premise that all men were created equal, but hat the Rhodesian declaration was based on the premise that they were not.
