  • Description

King Mohammed V of Morocco and his eldest son, Prince Moulay Hassan reviewed May 14 a military parade in Rabat to commemorate the third anniversary of the founding of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.

The King and Crown Prince greeted service chiefs in front of the Royal Palace and took the salute at the march past.

The King wore Army uniform for the ceremony. His son as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces was first to bow and clasp the King's hand in obeisance.

Crown Prince Moulay last month visited Cairo, Damascus and Paris - visits which emphasised the emergence of three-year-old independent Morocco as an important force in Arab Affairs. His mission to Paris underlined the possibility of a meeting between the King and President de Gaulle to help in a settlement of the four-year-old Algerian rebellion.
