Background: Brilliant sunshine greeted Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, when he flew into Melsbroock airport, near Brussels, today. The duke, himself at the controls of a Heron aircraft of the Queen's Flight, was at the start of a two-day visit to the World Fair.
He was met at the airport by the Prince of Liege, Prince Albert, younger brother of the Belgian King Baudouin. Also present were the British Ambassador and Belgian government ministers.
Arriving at the Fair, he was greeted by the ex-King Leopold. Early on his tour of the British Pavilion was a visit to the exhibition of British scientific achievement.
