    The British oil tanker 'British Lantern' is in danger of breaking up as it lies on a bar near Westerschedle off the coast of Holland.

    The tanker loaded with 40-thousand tons of crude oil, went aground yesterday (Friday) morning.

    Nineteens tugs were used in an effort to pull the vessel clear, and more tugs were being called in.

    The British ship was on its way to Antwerp.

    A number of small tankers were brought in to take oil off the 'British Lantern', and one of the relief tankers caught on fire. One man is missing.

    Oil sleeping from the tanker covers more than ten square miles of the sea off the Dutch coast.
