    After supporting the revolt against Emperor Haile Selassie Ethiopia's Ambassador to Stockholm Teferi Chareou has been replaced by the Emperor's nephew Prince Samson Beyene, Dec 19. Ambassador Chareou called a press conference when he heard of the Dec 14, coupe and described the Emperor as a "corrupt tyrant and executioner".

    Even after the rebel forces had been crushed Chareou continued to insult Haile Selassie and stated the rebels would rise again. He told newsmen that the events in Ethiopia was victory for "freedom and democracy".

    On Dec 19, the Ambassador was called to the Swedish Foreign Ministry where he was told that he was no longer recognised as his country's envoy. The Ministry requested him to abstain from political activities in Sweden and to refrain from insulting the Emperor.
