    A FLAME KINDLED AT JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY'S GRAVESIDE WAS USED TO LIGHT A CANDLE HELD BY PRESIDENT JOHNSON.THEN, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE LIT CANDLES THEY HAD BROUGHT WITH THEM, WHICH THEY PASSED TO FRIENDS NEAR AT HAND.

    THE PRESIDENT SPOKE TO HIS COUNTRYMEN, REMINDING THEM OF JOHN KENNEDY'S DEVOTION TO DUTY AND CALLED ON THEM NOT TO LET HIS SACRIFICE BE IN VAIN.HE APPEALED FOR NEW HOPES AND NEW SOLUTION DURING THE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS TO RENEW DEDICATION TO THEIR LAND.PRESIDE
    NT JOHNSON PRAYED THAT HIS COUNTRYMEN TOGETHER WITH THE REST OF MANKIND MIGHT HAVE THEIR SEASONAL WISHES FULFILLED - THE DEEP-FELT WISH FOR PEACE AND GOODWILL ON EARTH FOR ALL MEN.
