    The Tunisian situation was discussed briefly in the United Nations Security Council today, but debate was deferred so that the British and American offers of "good offices" might be given a chance of making some progress.

    Both countries pledge every effort to resolve the dispute.

    Some of the terms of what Tunisia will accept were spelled out in an interview which the Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba granted to our reporter.

    Bourguiba is a strong friend of the West, and wants to remain so. The following is an interpretation of what he had to say (he speaks only French)......
