    The ashes of the legendary Chinese military leader Marshal Chu Teh have now been placed in the Papaoshan cemetery for revolutionaries in Peking and the final tributes paid. There was another ceremony for Marshal Chu in the Philippines on Friday.

    SYNOPSIS: The Chinese embassy in the philippines capital Manila was the scene of the memorial ceremony for Marshal Chu who died in Peking on the 10th of July at the age of 90. Many people brought wreaths and signed an embassy register. As Chairman of the National People's Congress Chu Teh was China's Nearest equivalent to a Head of State.

    Chinese ambassador Ke Rua welcomed representatives of the Philippines Government and diplomates to the ceremony in honour of the "father of the Red Army". Those attending received ribbons and flowers as a sign of mourning. Marshal Chu Teh is remembered for his leadership of the "Long March" 41 years ago.
