General Mobutu Sese Seko, President of Zaire, had returned home following a 48-hour visit in Gabon. President Mobutu arrived in Libreville on May 6 for meetings with President Albert Bongo. President Bongo personally welcomed Mr. Mobutu. The airport ceremonies included a military honour guard and native dancers.
During the two days of meetings the two leaders signed a cultural agreement and decided to open commercial ???elations between their countries as well as direct telephone and telex links between Kinshasa and Libreville.
President Bongo accepted an invitation from President Mobutu to visit Kinshasa this month to attend the Congress of the People's Revolutionary Movement.

A full honour guard was present to salute the visiting President. After introducing President Mobutu to Gabonese officials, President Bongo and his guest got down to the serious talks. The discussions resulted in the signing of a cultural agreement and the opening of commercial and communications links between Kinshasa and Libreville.
So cordial were these meetings, that President Bongo accepted President Mobuto's invitation to visit Kinshase this month and attend the Congress of the People's Revolutionary Movement.
