    In Poland strong shophordo customs have prevailed. At the foot of Tatre mountains, along the Karpats, mountaineers breed sheep During the autumn-winter season the sheep are fed in sheds but in the spring they are gathered from different forms and Villages by sheep masters "baca". Then they are run in tends up the mountains where they stay through the whole spring-summer season. The sheep master "baca" in the assistance of his helpers "juhas" is responsible for the whole tend, he takes care of cow kittening, he mils sheep, makes sheep cheese etc. In the autumn he brings sheep back to the villages. This year in Szczonuice, neat Howy Targ, The Greet Rodyk, which is a solom customs of running sheep up to the mountains, covered only some part of them /6 thousand/. The rest of the sheep /about 60 thousand/were transported by modern means of transport.

    The Great Redyk is a big folkloristic show which is unique in ???. It's tradition is 300 hundred years old. According to the old traditio it takes place in Ezozawnica which is now a modern health resort of the country. There are some exhibitions arranged which show invaluable shepherd equipment, costumes and other exhibits.

    On special fair a wide range of folk products based mainly on sheep's wool and leather are preconsted. This handicraft is widely developed in the Tatro mountain district. All these products are not only fashionable and popular in Poland but they are also well know in many other countries of the world, especially in those in which bit Polish colonies are.
