    IN A CEREMONY IN FORT-LAMY LAST WEEK, M. FILLY CISSOKO. THE FIRST GUINEAN AMBASSADOR TO CHAD, PRESENTED HIS CREDENTIALS TO CHAD'S PRESIDENT, FRANCOIS TOMBALBAYE.

    WITH THEM AT THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE WAS DR. JACQUES BAROUM, CHAD'S MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS.

    M. CISSOKO EXPRESSED HIS PRIDE AND HONOUR AT HIS BEING CHOSEN THE FIRST AMBASSADOR TO CHAD FROM GUINEA. HE ALSO STATED HIS PLEASURE AT BEING ABLE TO WORK WITH PRESIDENT TOMBALBAYE, A MAN WHOSE WORKS ARE, AND WILL ALWAYS, AID THE TOTAL REHABILITATION OF AFRICA.

    M. CISSOKO WENT ON TO SAY THAT THE REPUBLIC OF GUINEA HAS A REAL SYMPATHY AND A PROFOUND ADMIRATION FOR THE EFFORTS OF THE VALIANT PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHAD IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER, DISEASE AND IGNORANCE.

    PRESIDENT TOMBALBAYE SAID THAT THE CEREMONY REPRESENTED A SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT IN THE UNITY OF AFRICA. A UNIFIED AFRICA, HE STATED, COULD STRUGGLE FOR LIBERATION AND FOR THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONTINENT.

    THE PRESIDENT ALSO STATED THAT ONE OF THE FIRST AND MOST DEVOTED WORKERS TOWARDS AFRICAN UNITY HAS THE PRESIDENT OF GUINEA, AHMED SEKU TOURE.

    PRESIDENT TOMBALBAYE ASSURED M. CISSOKO OF THE EFFORTS OF THE PEOPLE OF CHAD TOWARDS THE CONTINUATION OF GOOD RELATIONS WITH GUINEA.
