Taking shape at Cambridge is the new Churchill College, founded by Sir Winston.Film shows the completed first section of the main college building.Known as the North Court, it provides accommodation for 130 students and dons.The projecting bay windows are the chief feature of the design.The interior shots show a typical bed-sitting room.
The college will accommodate 400 when completed at the end of this year.Most important of the buildings still under construction is the main dining hall, shown with a crane at work on its concrete column.On the right is the kitchen block.
The second residential block -- the East Court -- is identical in design to the North Court.Film shows the block from the outside and from the top looking back across the main college buildings.
The Master of the College is Sir John Cockcroft, former chairman of the Atomic Energy Authority.
