    The latest tactical helicopter to come into Royal Air Force service is the Puma, which can carry 16 fully armed troops and can be used in the casualty evacuation, search and rescue, freight and troop transport roles. An Anglo/French project built by Westland Helicopter Ltd., and Aerospatiale, the Puma has a maximum cruising speed of 140kts. Powered by two free turbine engines the Puma is 59ft 7 ins long, 11ft 6ins wide (less rotors) and stand 16ft 10ins high.
