    THE STORK'S BEEN WORKING OVERTIME AT PRETORIA ZOO, SOUTH AFRICA.FIVE OF NATURE'S BABES MADE THEIR DEBUT AT THE ZOO THIS WEEK.FIRST NEWCOMER WAS MINI, A 100LB BABY ELEPHANT, BARELY A MONTH OLD.MINI'S MOTHER DIED IN THE BUSH SOON AFTER HE WAS BORN, AND THE TINY ORPHAN WAS FOUND WANDERING.HE WAS CAPTURED AND TAKEN TOT HE ZOO FOR SAFETY.

    MINI HAS A BABY-SITTER DAY AND NIGHT TO GIVE HIM HIS BOTTLE OF SPECIALLY-PREPARED FOOD EVERY SIX HOURS.ZOO OFFICIALS SAY IT'S UNKNOWN FOR AN AFRICAN ELEPHANT SO YOUNG TO BE REARED IN CAPTIVITY,BUT SO FAR MINI'S REPORTED TO BE DOING FINE.

    ATTENTION IS ALSO BEING LAVISHED ON TWO LION CUBS, BUTCH AND BUSTER, BORN AT THE ZOO LAST WEEK.IN A NEARBY CAGE ARE TWO SLIGHTLY RARER BABIES: A PAIR OF JAGUAR CUBS, NAMED ZELDA AND TURK.THEIR PARENTS ARE SOUTH AMERICAN JAGUARS BOUGHT BY THE ZOO SOME YEARS AGO.
