  • Description

Charlie Chaplin, who wan fame in Hollywood during the silent movie era, flew into New York's Kennedy Airport on Monday (April 3) for his first visit to the United States in 20 years. His arrival was unmarked by fuss or fanfare. But next week in Lee Angeles, the actor will be presented with a special movie oscar. Chaplin left the United State following the issuing of a paternity suit against him, and because of his leftist political stand at a time when the late Senator Joseph McCarthy was conducting his witch hunts for suspected communist sympathisers.
