    PRESIDENT NASSER YESTERDAY (TUESDAY) ATTENDED A MILITARY PARADE IN PORT SAID TO MARK THE NINTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WITHDRAWAL OF ANGLO-FRENCH TROOPS AFTER THE 1956 SUEZ CAMPAIGN.

    AT THE TWO-HOUR LONG PARADE, MIG FIGHTERS ROARED OVERHEAD AS COMMANDOS, TANKS, MISSILES ARTILLERY AND AIRCRAFT UNITS FILED PAST THE REVIEWING STAND. BALLOONS BEARING THE PRESIDENT'S PORTRAIT WERE THROWN FROM HELICOPTERS FLYING OVER THE PARADE GROUND.

    IN A TWO-AND-HALF HOUR SPEECH AFTER THE PARADE, PRESIDENT NASSER TOLD A WILDLY CHEERING CROWD OF 20,000 PEOPLE THAT HE WAS CONFIDENT THE SUEZ WAR WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS A LANDMARK AND THAT FUTURE HISTORIANS WOULD REFER TO PRE-SUEZ AND POST-SUEZ ERAS.
