Hungarian Prime Minister Janos Kadar arrived at Ciampino, rome's military airport for a three day official visit. He was greeted at the airport by Italian prime minister Giulio andreotti and Mrs. Andreotti. This is Kadar's first visit to a country that belongs to Nato and the European Community. During his visit, Kadar will visit Italy's president Giovanni Leone at the Quirinale Palace, will have an audience with the Pope (private) on Thursday and will have a press conference at the Grand Hotel, where he is staying.
Kadar's visit is important also because the Hungarians support a policy which says that the Russians are not the leaders of world communism and that each country has its own way to socialism. Kadar also believes that the Eurocommunists are really following an anti-soviet line. It was not immediately know whether Kadar will be seeing members of the Italian Communist party during his visit here.
