  • Description

Two hundred Swedish drivers took part recently in driving test in Denmark which was arranged for them by the Danish Automobile Association. The test was organised in order to find out how well the Swedes would drive in Right-hand traffic.

The test actually began in Halsingborg from where they drove to the ancient Viking town of Fredrikstad passing through three police road checks along the way. After arriving in Fredrikstad they were put through a number of tests and exercises by strict Danish driving teachers. Later they were handed diplomas in Copenhagen.

The teachers, when asked what they thought of the driving prowess of their Swedish charges were rather reserved and agreed that more practice was needed during the relatively short time left (1967), before Sweden makes the change-over to right-hand traffic.
