Background: The Three Kings of Orient - the magi who paid homage to the Child in the manger - headed a splended procession of clowns and animals through the streets of Rome on New Year's Eve.
Organised by the Italian Red Cross and the journalists of Rome, the parade of citizens of the Eternal City and members of the Orfei Circus with their livestock was in support of an appeal for toy gifts to orphans and needy children.
All presents collected during this appeal will be distributed on Jan 6 - Italy's "Boxing Day".
