Background: Tanzanian Prime Minster Mr. Rashidi Kawawa told a conference of fast and Central African Foreign Ministers, on Thursday (November 22nd), that the liberation of southern Africa was as vial to black African states as their relations with each other.
The purpose of the conference was to prepare an agenda for the next summit of African leaders in the People's Republic of the Congo next year. Their discussions were held in camera on Friday. they considered recommendations drawn up by five committees; on agriculture, human resources, industry and energy, transport and communications, and trade and tourism. Most of the ministers had come straight on from a special conference of minsters in Addis Ababa to discuss the Middle East situation. The delegates were Tanzania, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Zaire, Guinea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Zambia and Gabon.
