SYNOPSIS: Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the Indian Prime Minister, told a mass rally of more than 200,000 people in the Indian capital New Delhi on Monday that Indian was capable of providing everything that Bangla Desh needed for its reconstruction efforts. Mrs. Gandhi was honoured at the outdoor rally for her leadership of the nation in the war against Pakistan. Further on the theme of reconstruction, she said the amount of aid needed by Bangla Desh was not as great as was at one time feared. India was capable, she said, of meeting all the new nations's needs without asking anyone for help. It had inbuilt resources, and could do things beyond the comprehension of many others in this world. Within two years, she said, India could become self-sufficient. She also said it was impossible to say whether the war with Pakistan was yet over. The spirit of unity and self-sacrifice in the country during the war with Pakistan was, she added, the spirit necessary for setting up a Socialist society and abolishing poverty, unemployment and hunger.
