    THE SECOND SUCCESSIVE DAY OF U.S. AIRFORCE INCURSIONS INTO NORTH VIETNAM, LAST SUNDAY, TOOK A SQUADRON OF 24 VIETNAMESE SKYRAIDERS SUPPORTED BY U.S. JETS TO TIGER ISLAND. AT THE SAME TIME A DISPLAY OF CAPTURED VIET CONG WEAPONS BEING SHOWN IN SAIGON WAS DRAWING LARGE CROWDS OF PEOPLE.

    TIGER ISLAND (HON COP) LIES 18 MILES ACROSS THE NORTH-SOUTH DEMARKATION LINE. THE TARGET WAS REPORTED BY A JOINT U.S.-VIETNAMESE COMMUNIQUE TO HAVE BEEN "TOTALLY DESTROYED" BY STRAFING AND BOMBING. THE RAID TOOK ONLY 45 MINUTES AND ALL AIRCRAFT RETURNED SAFELY TO BASE.

    HON COP WAS DESCRIBED AS AN IMPORTANT RECONNAISSANCE CENTRE, EQUIPPED WITH RADAR FOR DETECTING SHIP MOVEMENTS IN THE GULF OF TONKIN, JUST OFF THE DEMARKATION PARALLEL.

    IN SAIGON, AN EXHIBITION OF CAPTURED VIET CONG WEAPONS WAS OPENED A FEW DAYS BEFORE BY THE PRIME MINISTER, DR. PHAN HUY QUAT.

    THE DISPLAY INCLUDES NUMEROUS TYPES OF WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT FOR WAR, ALLEGED TO BE MANUFACTURED IN THE U.S.S.R., THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, EAST GERMANY, CZECHOSLOVAKIA AND NORTH VIETNAM. THE WEAPONS WERE SEIZED AS A RESULT OF SOUTH VIETNAMESE GOVERNMENT FORCES ACTIONS LAST MONTH IN VUNG RO BAY (CAPE VARELLA), ABOUT 200 MILES EAST OF SAIGON.
