The discussions at high level started this morning at 10 ??? and dealt with steel industry, and experts gave their opinions on the development of the balance of trade and payments between EEC and Japan. They have to analyse all figures as EEC and Japan dont agree on them.
They discussed bilateral trade issues such as steel, ship building, car industry and all international trade fields where EEC and Japan are in competition.
They also talked of their attitude toward developing and third party countries such as United States.
The Japanese party was led by Mr. Hirohichi Miyazaki (Ambassador).
The EEC party was led by Mr. Sir ROY DENMAN (Director General of EEC External Affairs)
