Background: On April 18, British Secretary for Foreign affairs Michel Stuart, accompanied by his wife and several Foreign Affairs high functionaries arrived in Beograd.
The British politicians were greet by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Koca Popovic, his wife and other Yugoslav figures.
After having arrived in Beograd in his four-day visit, Minister Stuart Expressed his pleasure of having opportunity to visit Yugoslavia whether he would have useful and constructive talks with Yugoslav representatives.
Political circles in Beograd consider the visit of the head of the Foreign Office as a prove of consolidation between the two countries.
In their comments published on account of Minister Stuart's visit, newspapers express their beliefs that the consolidation will contribute to the extending of Yugoslav-British cooperation especially on economic field.
On April 19, in the morning, in the building of the Secretariat for foreign Affairs, minister Michel Stuart and Koca Popovic started political talks. Besides the subjects covering bilateral relations, current international questions especially those ones concerning southeastern Asia were on agenda.
The exchange of the ministers's views as well as those of their associates, will continue.
