Background: First Secretary of the Polish United Worker's Party Stanislaw Kania made a visit in Budapest at the invitation of Hungarian Socialist Worker's Party First Secretary Janos Kadar.
In sincere comradely atmosphere and in the spirit of mutual understanding, Kadar and Kania informed each other about the situation of their repeative countries and the policy line of their parties.
Kadar pointed out the Hungarian Socialist Worker's Party has solidarity toward the efforts of Polish Communist to restore social order and calm and to surmount the difficulties that have emerged in the course of social construction, toward efforts under way for a socialist-oriented denoument and toward the Polish communists, resolve to struggle for the attainment of social and national aims in union with the community of socialist countries.
The two party leaders stressed that the highly important initiatives taken at the 26th congress of the CPSU are appreciated and promoted by their parties in the interest of peace.
