  • Description

A group of Congolese primary school children had the treat of their lives when they were guests of President Mobutu recently at the miniature zoo in the grounds of the Presidential Palace at Mount Stanley.

The children were from the primary school at the Binza military camp of Colonel Tshatshi.

Here in the official home of the President, the children saw a marvellous array of animals in a magnificent setting...eagles antelopes, every kind of bird, and the ever popular lions.

But deserving of special mention is the leopard. He is adopted as a national symbol the Congo, since he is associated with the President's own tribe, the Bengale.
