    THE ANNIVERSARY WAS MARKED BY A PARADE IN PARIS. FRENCH SOLDIERS IN THE RED TROUSERED, BLUE COATED UNIFORMS OF 1914 MARCHED FROM THE PLACE DE LA REPUBLIC TO THE GARE DE L'EST. FROM THIS STATION, DURING THE FIRST 16 DAYS OF THE WAR, 21,000 TRAINS CARRYING OVER A MILLION MEN AND NEARLY HALF A MILLION HORSES LEFT FOR THE FRONT.

    THE PARADE WAS WATCHED BY THE MINISTER OF WAR, M. SAINTENY, VETERANS OF THE 1914 - 18 STRUGGLE AND MANY FOREIGN MILITARY ATTACHES IN PARIS.
