  • Description

Bombs exploded in three parts of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Thursday (20 Jan.) causing damage, but no casualties.

One bomb shattered the front of the ultra-modern Algerian Embassy in Beirut, a second wrecked a lorry parked near the offices of a left-wing newspaper, and the third damaged a hotel building.

All three places are connected in some way with the Palestine Resistance movement-which has alleged that the explosions are part of a plot in which the Jordanian intelligence is implicated.

A spokesman for the largest of the guerrilla groups, Al-Fatah, described the attacks as part of a criminal conspiracy aimed at pushing things in Lebanon to the brink of an explosion.
