    Three American mothers, whose sons are imprisoned in Communist China on charges of espionage, arrived in HongKong today to visit their sons.

    The three women, Mrs. M. Downey of Connecticut, Mrs. P.D. Fecteau of Massachusetts and Mrs. H. Redmond, were granted special passports for the trip.

    John Downey and Richard Fecteau were civilian employees of the US Air Force and were shot down together with 11 U.S.A.F. personnel over Korea in 1952. Redmond, a businessman in Shanghai was arrested in 1951.

    Downey and Redmond are serving life sentences; Fecteau was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

    Mrs. Downey and Mrs Fecteau travelled from Hong Kong to Peking where their sons are imprisoned; Mrs Redmond, to Shanghai.

    In the same 'plane, today, was Mr. XX A.L. Wirin, an American Lawyer who is collecting evidence for John Powell and his wife, Sylvia, who have been charged with sedition in the United States. Powell published a magazine in Shanghai under the communists.
