    British Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, took his leave of French President Charles de Gaulle at the Elysee Palace, May 19, as he prepared to fly home after the collapse of the Summit conference in Paris. At London Airport, he made a brief statement of journalists after a welcome by Senior Government Ministers:
    Premier Macmillan allowed no questions to journalists as he was to make a full statement to the House of Commons the next day. A Cabinet meeting was expected to be called in the morning to enable Mr. Macmillan to give senior colleagues an account of the abortive conference and an assessment of Mr. Khrushchev's motives and the implications for the west.
