    THE VICTORS, POWERED BY BRISTOL SIDDELEY JETS DEVELOPING MORE THAN 17,000 POUNDS THRUST, LEFT BRITAIN IN ON THE PREVIOUS DAY. THEY STOPPED BRIEFLY IN LIBYA AND ADEN.

    THE FIRST AIRCRAFT, WITH A SIX-MAN CREW WAS PILOTED BY FLIGHT-COMMANDER IAN LEINSTER; THE SECOND, WITH A CREW OF FIVE, BY FLIGHT-LIEUTENANT KEN LOVETT.

    GREETING THEM ON ARRIVAL WERE THE AIR FORCE COMMANDER IN-CHIEF, FAR EAST, AIR MARSHAL SIR HECTOR MCGREGOR; WING COMMANDER PEDDER; AND GROUP CAPTAIN PIERCE, STATION COMMANDER SINGAPORE.
