    THE FRENCH CABINET MEETING THIS MORNING WAS THE FIRST OF ELEVEN YEARS AT WHICH GENERAL GAULLE DID NOT PRESIDE. IT WAS HELD AT THE HOTEL MATIGNON, OFFICIAL RESIDENCE OF PRIME MINISTER COUVE DE MURVILLE.

    AFTER THE MEETING THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION M. JOEL LE THEULE SAID THAT THE GOVERNMENT WOULD CONTINUE TO CARRY OUT ITS FUNCTIONS AS LAID DOWN BY THE CONSTITUTION. NO DATE WAS ANNOUNCED FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, WHICH MUST BE HELD IN THE NEXT 20 TO 35 DAYS.
