    Background: Prince Bernard, Crown Princes Beatrix and Princess Irene of the Netherlands were among the spectators at the international riding contests on the Vienna Freudenau polo-field on Sunday, June 8th.

    An international tournament ended with a high-jumping contest, which was won in the fourth heat by Capt. Aranda, of Chile, on Pillan. Close second was the young Belgian rider, Miss Vanderhaegen, who failed when the height of 1.90 metres was reached.

    M. Francois-Poncet, of France, was placed third, having given up in the third heat of high-jump.
