    Background: First pictures released of the Thor Missile show its launching this month from a base at Cape Canaveral, Florida - site of the launchings of the United States two satellites circling the earth.

    The first missile launching team of RAF and USAF airmen will be operationally ready in Britain by the end of this year, according to a recent official announcement in Washington.

    The teams shown under training at the missile school at Tucson, Arizona, are studying part of the Thor steering gear, before watching the working model of the Thor site.

    The team, the first under training, include 45 RAF men.
