Background: On Wednesday the new Mulungushi Conference Hall in Lusaka was officially opened. It was built by a joint Yogoslav-Zambian partnership in time to house next month's Non-Aligned Summit Meeting.
Zambian Works Minister Aaron Miler, who supervised the project said he had been impressed by the team spirit of the workers.
President Kaunda, was handed the keys of the Hall. He praised the Zecco construction team and said the completion of the hall should be considered a very important event in the life of Zambia. It marked a milestone in the country's growth as a sovereign independent nation and member of the international community. He hoped the Hall would remain a living symbol of the principle of non-alignment, and also an example of what Zambia could achieve in the future.
