REPORTER: "Majorie Wallace, congratulations on winning "Miss World" 1973. How did you feel when "Miss Philippines" was declared a runner-up and you were still waiting there in line with other girls?"

MISS WORLD: "I was thinking "Oh my goodness, it might be me', there were only three of us left and it had to be one of us, so I was just thinking, 'well, maybe its me'."

REPORTER: "One of you ambitions is to swim the English Channel; do you think you could have done it last night?"

MISS WORLD: "(LAUGHS) I doubt it, I was too weak, I was in a daze. I couldn't have done any swimming last night, I don't think!"

REPORTER: "You've won three thousand pounds, about seven thousand dollars - any plans?"

MISS WORLD: "Were your family in the audience last night?"

MISS WORLD: "Well, I am sure I will have plans for it as soon as I get it in my hands. I don't know quite now. I don't know yet."

REPORTER: "Were your family in the audience last night?"

MISS WORLD: "Part of my family was - mother, my sister and my grandmother were there."

REPORTER: "And how did they feel?"

MISS WORLD: "Very happy. My sponsor from the U.S. was also there, and it was the first time Miss U.S.A. had ever, ever won, so he was very happy. He's been trying for several years."

REPORTER: "Now, you've been Miss U.S.A.; what other titles have you had and when did you start?"

MISS WORLD: "My first contest ever was August 3rd., and I became "Miss Indiana", on August 3rd, and about six weeks later, September 20th, I became "Miss U.S.A.', and about two months later, November 23rd. So that's three, just three. I just started in August, not very long ago."

REPORTER: "What are your thoughts on people betting on the Miss World competition?"

MISS WORLD; "Well, I hear in England, you bet on anything. It's alright with me."
