    Delhi Police gave a touching memorial service to the nine dead Police personnel of Ladakh who were massacred by Chinese on 21st October, 1959.

    The Ladakh Police Patrol was going on routine inspection rounds in Hot Spring Area when the Chinese opened fire at point blank and killed nine, took away their dead bodies and captured the remaining members of the party which included Karan Singh who is now a DSP incharge of Ladakh Affairs in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

    A "Policeman on Watch" Memorial was constructed and wreaths laid by the IG of Police and the Chief Commissioner of Delhi.Bugglars sounded the last post and arms were reversed.Later A march past was inspected by the IG of Police which consisted of cavalry also.
