    After a 40-minute meeting with French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing in Paris on Monday (9 January), Tunisian Prime MINISTER Hedi Nouira, described relations between the two countries as very good.

    SYNOPSIS: The Tunisian Prime Minister, who arrived in France on Friday (6 January) met President Giscard at the Elysee Place.

    Among the wide range of subjects they discussed was Egyptian President, Anwar Sadat's effort to bring peace to Middle East, and on these Monsieur Nouira said their views were similar. He described President Sadat's initiative as very courageous, but said he was disappointed with the Israeli response to the Egyptian leader's proposals.

    The Tunisian Prime Minister was later due to have talks with his French counterpart, Raymond Barre. France is Tunisia's largest single trading partner, and supplies more than 30 percent of all Tunisian imports. Only Italy takes more Tunisian exports than France.
