    MORE THAN 100 GOVERNMENT TROOPS WHO TOOK PART IN RECENT OPERATIONS AGAINST THE VIETCONG WERE DECORATED AT A CEREMONY AT TAY NINH, SOUTH VIETNAM, LAST WEEK.IN THE SIX-DAY OPERATION, THE VIETNAMESE ARMY CLAIMS TO HAVE DESTROYED A VIETCONG ORGANISATION IN TAY NINH PROVINCE.

    AN OFFICIAL BULLETIN SAID THAT 17 VIETCONG WERE FOUND DEAD, 62 OTHERS WERE BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN KILLED OR WOUNDED, AND 28 PRISONERS WERE TAKEN.NEARLY 3,000 PEOPLE WERE EVACUATED FROM VIETCONG TERRITORY FOR RESETTLEMENT IN STRATEGIC HAMLETS.ONE GOVERNMENT SOLDIER WAS WOUNDED.

    MEANWHILE, SOUTH VIETNAM HAS BUILT MANY MILITARY OUTPOSTS AND WATCH TOWERS ALONG THE BORDERS OF LAOS AND CAMBODIA.THE AIM: TO PREVENT COMMUNIST SUPPORTERS FROM CROSSING INTO THE COUNTRY.

    ON THE DAY OF THE PRESENTATION IN TAY NINH, A PARTY OF AMERICAN MILITARY ADVISERS AND VIETNAMESE ARMY OFFICERS MADE AN INSPECTION TOUR OF BORDER OUTPOSTS IN KIEN GIANG PROVINCE, THE SOUTHERNMOST PART OF THE SOUTH VIETNAM-CAMBODIA BORDER.
