    Mr Macmillan had a busy schedule today, January 11th, prior to his departure Karachiwards on the 12th.

    In the morning he visited Defence stores establishments (no pictures allowed), and in the evening attended a reception given by the Vice President of India Dr. Radha Krishnan. Mr Macmillan was accompanied by his wife Lady Dorothy. Dr Prasad, President of India also attended. The British Prime Minister chatted with many people, including the United States Ambassador, Mr. Bunker, and the Japanese Ambassador.

    Before leaving Delhi on the morning of January 12th, for Karachi, Mr Macmillan paid tribute to the hospitality he enjoyed in India during his four-day visit. He said at the airport: "This journey has far exceeded anything I had dared to hope for in the kindness, courtesy and warmth which has been shown me."
    Mr Nehru, the Indian Prime Minister, and his Cabinet colleagues and members of the Diplomatic Corps, besides a large holiday crowd of Indians and members of the British community in Delhi were at the airport to see him off. Mr Macmillan summed up his visit saying: "I feel it symbolises a new creative period of partnership between India and Britain." He thanked the Indian Press for its "kindness" and the accuracy with which it had covered his visit and reported what he had said.
