    ABOUT THREE DOZEN YOUTH LEADERS FORM SEVEN FRENCH SPEAKING WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICAN NATIONS HAVE BEEN ATTENDING A TRAINING COURSE IN LOME, CAPITAL OF TOGO. THE COURSE OPENED ON NOVEMBER 11 AND CONCLUDED ON NOVEMBER 25.

    THE YOUTH LEADERS ATTENDING THE COURSE CAME FROM CAMEROUN, CONGO-KINSHASA, DAHOMEY, GABON, THE IVORY COAST, TOGO AND UPPER VOLTA.

    THE DELEGATES HEARD LECTURES BY CONGOLESE, IVORY COAST AND TOGOLESE EXPERTS. THERE WERE LONG SESSIONS OF THE YOUTH LEADERS EXCHANGING THEIR EXPERIENCES IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES. THE COURSE WAS ORGANISED BY THE WORLD ASSEMBLY OF YOUTH (W.A.Y) IN COLLABORATION WITH THE WEST GERMAN FRIEDRICH NAUMANN FOUNDATION AND TOGO'S NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL. THE PRESIDENT OF W.A.Y., MR. BERTIE SANDRO, AND THE SECRETARY-GENERAL, MR. FAKUN DWARIKA, ATTENDED THE CONFERENCE. THE FRIEDRICH NAUMANN FOUNDATION WAS REPRESENTED BY HERR PETER ACKERMANN.

    THE CONFERENCE WAS URGED BY THE TOGOLESE MINISTER IN CHARGE OF RURAL ECONOMY, M. PIERRE ADOSSAMA, TO REJECT AN IMPORTED IDEOLOGY. HE SAID THAT AFRICA MUST HAVE ITS OWN IDEOLOGY TO WORK AT ITS OWN DEVELOPMENT.
